Hopkins was slated to be sidelined four-to-six weeks. Now, he’s trending in the right direction with the Titans’ season opener against the host Chicago Bears looming on Sunday.

While Tennessee coach Brian Callahan wasn’t ready to declare Hopkins a go against the Bears, he said he liked what he saw from the three-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowl selection.

“He looks like Hop,” Callahan said. “He’s been really communicative about how he feels and where his body’s at and making sure he’s getting to work to be ready to play. Everything he’s done has been exactly what we’re looking for in terms of communication and process, so that’s been positive.”

Hopkins led the Titans in catches (75), receiving yards (1,057) and receiving touchdowns (seven) in 17 games (16 starts) last season.

Hopkins, 32, has 928 career receptions for 12,355 yards and 78 TDs in 162 games (161 starts) for the Houston Texans (2013-19), Arizona Cardinals (2020-22) and Titans.

The Texans selected him 27th overall in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Clemson.
