As expected, Diablo 4’s Berserk event is a big elaborate excuse to sell you on some in-game skins that’ll no doubt cost way too much

Blizzard has finally outlined what we can expect from the first Diablo 4 cross-over with a non-Blizzard brand. As revealed in the recently-published roadmap, the action RPG will be hosting two such IP collaborations this year.

The first was recently announced to be with Berserk, the iconic Japanese anime and manga. We won’t have to wait until the event kicks off next month to find out what it has, however, as the developer has spilled all the beans.

First things first, the Diablo 4 x Berserk event will kick off May 6 in game, and will remain available until June 3. While there is a gameplay component to the collaboration, it is so slim you can safely ignore it. That’s because – if all you care about is donning your Diablo 4 characters in Berserk-inspired armor – you can very much head straight to the in-game shop for the real meat of this event.

The whole point of the Berserk collaboration is is to collect cosmetics. There’s sadly no new mode, or even an invasion of Berserk characters and enemies into the game’s world or anything like that.

Slaying elite enemies has a chance to drop Behelits, which can later be exchanged for a few event cosmetics. These can only be used in the Berserk Reliquary, which will be available for the duration of the event. A Reliquary is essentially a battle pass that runs alongside the season’s existing one. That concept is being introduced to Diablo 4 with Season 8: Belial’s Return next week.

There are four rewards you can claim as part of the Berserk Reliquary: Hawks Destiny Back Trophy, Skull Knight’s Heraldry Mount Armor, Brand of Sacrifice Marking, and Foretold Eclipse Headstone. Grabbing all of them earns you the Od of the Berserker Emblem as a bonus.

Those look decent, but the real meat of the collaboration is, of course, all the unique amor Blizzard wants you to buy through the in-game store. Prices are not known at this time, but four amor sets can be yours, if you’re willing to part with your cash.

They are Berserker Armor (Barbarian), The Skull Knight (Necromancer), The Hawk of Light (Rogue), and The Struggler (Rogue). There’s also a pet bundle that comes with The Schnoz, as well as Mask Rakshas Mount Trophy, and Chimimoryo’s Resemblance. Finally, there’s the Warhorse of the Hawk mount and Mount Armor bunde.

And one last item you can spend money on is the Skull Behelit Mount Trophy, which can only be acquired by supporting a participating Twitch streamer. More details on that will be revealed later.

In case you missed it, Season 8: Belial’s Return will kick off next week with a new quest, the ability to wield the powers of defeated bosses, an entirely new battle pass system, and major changes to the endgame boss ladder and more.
