Dark Souls Remastered is the next game getting a Seamless Co-op mod, though it might not arrive in time to help fill the pre-Nightreign void

Good news, people who’re currently sitting barricaded in rooms gently whispering ‘dance pad challenge run’ while you wait for Elden Ring Nightreign to arrive. The modder behind Elden Ring‘s uber-popular multiplayer add-on is really doing the Elden Lord’s work.

Fresh off of releasing a Dark Souls 3 seamless co-op mod, they’ve now revealed that they’re in the early stages of creating one for Dark Souls Remastered – meaning you should be able to not only kill some bosses with your mates in another thing at some point down the line, but also inhale a crap tonne of nostalgic vibes while doing so.

“I’m pleased to announce that I have hit an important milestone in the development of the seamless co-op mod for Dark Souls Remastered,” the modder behind all of these cool co-op mods, Yui, revealed in their latest post announcing that this is a thing on Patreon, “This is a a mod that aims to make the co-operative side of multiplayer in the game more fun.”

In terms of features you can expect, they wrote that you can look forward to multiplayer sessions that persist regardless of stuff like deaths, boss kills, and teleports, the ditching of multiplayer boundaries, and PvP invasions. “A toggle for full progress synchronisation” will also be in there, as well as some optional modifiers in case you want to dial up the difficulty, cos FromSoft game.

“The mod is still early in development, but I will post updates here once more progress has been made,” Yui continued, adding: “I’m still actively working on Dark Souls III seamless co-op to get it more stable, and I’m also going through my backlog of old/neglected projects and giving them a rework.”

They close by revealing that they’ll probably post a YouTube video showcasing some or all of this “when there’s a bit more to show”.

So, there you go. You FromSofty types continue to eat well ahead of Nightreign arriving in a couple of months. Are you excited about jumping into a bit of seamless co-op in Dark Souls Remastered? Scream in pain below if so.
