Borderlands 4. It’s getting its own special PlayStation State of Play showcase today, and you can watch it here. You know you want to. Randy Pitchford will probably be there, and he’s a cool guy. Right? Right?!
In all seriousness, Gearbox and 2K seem to be properly kicking off the marketing push towards the game since announcing that its release date has been moved up from September 23 to September 12 for definitely not GTA 6-related reasons the other day. Just ignore that the studio’s CEO accidentally blew up his own PR team’s reveal of that by forgetting what time zones are. To be fair, we all do a goof sometimes.
Anyway, to cut the chase, the Borderlands 4 gameplay deep dive State of Play will be kicking off today – April 30 – at 10PM BST, that’s 5PM ET, 2PM PT, and 11PM CEST. Time zones, yo. You’ll be able to watch it by clicking play on the video embedded above when the time that applies to where you live rolls around.
What’ll you be in for, aside from probably some Pitchfun with Pitchford? Well, in the PS blog announcing this State of Play, Gearbox creative director Graeme Timmins wrote that he and senior project producer Anthony Nicholsonwill be presenting: “over 20 minutes of developer-guided gameplay, including missions, killer weapons, exciting Action Skills, new and returning characters, and more.”
I’d wager there’ll be plenty of gags, and a lot of screaming too. Fun for you and your whole family of Claptrap plushies.
Enjoy, and if you’re keen to keep the Borderlands juice flowing once it’s over – first of all get a room, but also read our Connor’s musings about his recent revisit of Borderlands 3. Those musings are pretty spoilery, just as a heads up.
