Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are actually going live in the US today

Well, it’s happening, starting from 12am EST on April 24 / 9pm PST on April 23, the great US digital stampede begins — with retailers like Walmart already chucking up listings to see how fast they can melt servers. Games and accessories are tagging along too, because of course they are. If you’re itching to throw your money at Nintendo, you’ll find the links below. No judgment. We’ve all been there.

With a $450 price tag, the Switch 2 is Nintendo’s most expensive console yet — and arguably its most ambitious. Judging by how fast it’s flying off shelves elsewhere, the US is about to join the queue of people panic-refreshing retail sites like it’s a Taylor Swift presale.

Retailers like Walmart, GameStop, and Target, and more are all in on the action today. Amazon US won’t be, as it’s got some beef with Nintendo still, but there’s plenty of options elsewhere. Just remember, stock will fluctuate faster than your Wi-Fi on launch day, but Nintendo says more waves will arrive closer to release. Still, if you’re serious about grabbing one, don’t wait around — shortages are more than just a possibility. They’re practically tradition at this point.

Nintendo’s also dealing with absolute chaos in Japan, where demand has already blown past expectations. Over 2.2 million people applied for the My Nintendo Store lottery, and president Shuntaro Furukawa’s basically waving a red flag: there won’t be enough units, and people are gonna be mad.
